Join Our client as an EHS Manager in Bedhampton, Hampshire

We are seeking a dedicated EHS Manager for our Aerospace site in Bedhampton, Hampshire part of The Fuel and Motion Control Systems (FMC).

Role Overview:

As the EHS Manager, you will provide comprehensive environmental, health, safety, and security support to our site. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Directing EHS activities at the site and setting objectives and targets.
  • Internal reporting of EHS performance.
  • Communicating regulatory requirements at national, area, and local levels.
  • Maintaining site ISO/OHSAS certifications.
  • Ensuring accurate EHS reporting and timely closure of findings.
  • Completing required EHS personnel training.
  • Managing interfaces with public and governmental authorities.
  • Directing actions during crises and overseeing site security.
  • Creating a strong EHS culture that engages all employees.

In the future, the role will expand to include Facilities management, aiming for world-class safety, quality, cost, output, regulatory compliance, operational performance, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve and direct site EHS targets & objectives.
  • Facilitate risk assessments and reduce risk and environmental impact.
  • Track performance with appropriate indicators.
  • Support the creation of EHS goals for site leadership and front-line supervisors.
  • Drive and promote a zero-incident EHS culture.
  • Facilitate EHS engagement through teams and committees.
  • Evaluate compliance with EHS regulations annually.
  • Pursue third-party recognition for EHS programs.
  • Manage EHS data using established processes like MESH Suite.
  • Ensure all training is defined and tracked to completion.
  • Ensure key EHS operational controls are in place and timely resolution of action items.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in EHS program management and employee training.
  • Four-year degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline, or equivalent.
  • Advanced degree (Master’s level or beyond recommended).
  • Professional certification (CSP, CIH, CHMM) recommended.
  • Strong comprehension of industry and legal EHS requirements.
  • Excellent team-building and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated managerial courage and ability to lead cross-functional EHS teams.
